,g ir —Perhaps a clearer way of taking the Waikato licensing pollltenrej quoted by you, is that in 1922 3167 votes were cast for prohibition, a peicentage of 50.80; while 3067 votes were cast against prohibition, a percentage of 49 20. In this month's election 3bsb votes were cast against prohibition, a percentage of 52.02; while 3372 votes were cast in favour of prohibition, a percentage of 47:98. The prohibition vote would seem to have declined Z.Stf per cent since 1922.—1 am, etc., C. HARTE.
