WAITOMO CAMPAIGN.

MR BROADFOOT'S CANDIDATURE. (Contributed.) On the eve of an election the spirit of partisanship is apt to run rife and statements are broadcasted which, either intentionally or unintentionally, misrepresent the political views of the candidate against whom they are directed.

The Reform party has always, since the days of Mr (now Sir James) Allen, been an adept at these tactics, which -are well represented by the recent fulminations of the New Zealand Herald against the NATIONALIST candidate for the WAITOMO seat. „ It is, therefore, pleasing at such a jiincture to read the following from a Reform supporter, which appeared in the WAITARA Evening Mail and Clifton County Chronicle of 23rd OCTOBER, 1925: — A REFORMER'S EULOGY OF MR BROADFOOT.

" Yes, he is one of the finest men I have met. I believe he has done more for the King Country than any other man or body of men in it. He is a splendid citizen, and if he was standing in the Reform interest we would return him with a majority of 1000 votes."

P.S. —This gentleman's name can be given on application to Box 32, WAITiARA.* 717
