A MUSTY TEAPOT
An electro-plated teapot, which is perhaps produced only on special occasions’,' is very apt to become musty. Before using the teapot, remove-? the musty smell by the following simple method: First well wash the pot in hot clean suds. Use toilet soap for the purpose. Household soap, strong in alkali, will dull the metal and spoil its appearance. Fill the teapot then with boiling water, pick a red-hot wood ash from the fire with the tongs, and drop it in the hot water. Close the lid of the teapot and leave for half an hour. Rinse with hot, then with cold water, and all unpleasant odor will have entirely disappeared.
