TE AWAMUTU v. HAMILTON B,
Last Saturday afternoon a team of players from the Hamilton Lawn Tennis Club visited Te Awamutu for an inter-club match, and after a very interesting series of contests the aggregates were announced as: Te Awamutu 11 sets 136 games; Hamilton B 8 sets 132 games. The president of the local club expressed the players’ pleasure at being able to meet their old opponents again. The play had been strenuous and the finishes close—as they should be. He hoped the visitors had enjoyed their afternoon’s sport. (Hear, hear.) as much as the Te Awamutu players had. Following are the scores in each match, Te Awamutu players being mentioned first in each instance: —
