.FIVE YEARS FOR INDECENCY., (By Telegraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Arthur Alphonso Silverter Joseph Everett, for indecent assault, was sentenced to five years’ hard labour to-day. His Honour said that in prisoner’s possession was found a book and a number of photographs. He had examined these, and they were of the most disgusting and degrading character. Prisoner collapsed when leaving the dock. Alfred John Scoon, tor theft, was ordered to be detained for reformative treatment for 12 months. The judge took into consideration the fact that accused had given every assistance in clearing up matters. Gerald Leonard Knowles, for false pretences and forgery, was sentenced to two years’ hard labour.
