ODDFELLOWSHIP.
VISIT OF GRAND LODGE OFFICERS. There was a fair altendance at the meeting of (ho Loyal Te Avvaimttu Lodge. Manchester Unity. Oddfellows, held on Monday evening. Among those present were the district grand master (Bro. P A. Syers) and (lie district secretary (Bro. John McLeod). Tn referring to the progress made hv the Auckland district during the year 1922 the district grand master stated that the net increase in mem--1 ership during that period was 556. and the total membership of the district was 4326. The membership of the whole of New Zealand was over 23,000. During the same period the Auckland district paid in sick benefits £6699. funeral benefits £1326, medical benefits £4340, hospital benefits £BOO. and maternity bonuses granted totalled £1446. He’ stated that the benefits which men and women obtained from membership in the unity were financial. fraternal, and educational. The society had lodges throughout the Empire, and members were justified in inducing their friends to join the order and participate in these benefits.
