MORAL LAXITY.
A BISHOP'S DENUNCIATION. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) • CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The Bishop of W'illochra, Dr Gilbert *f- White, made a sensational denunciation of laxity in present-day morals, at the Christchnrcli Congress to-day. " It is probably the first time ;in the history of nominal Christianity that lust has been so widely excused, even lauded as though it were a virtue." said the bishop. His attack was directed generally against the low standard of the morals of present-day society. He cited a New Zealand Government report to s'how ilia', of >v Miien becoming mothers for the first lime 'in the Dominion, each year more thin half had been unchaste.
