AN EXPENSIVE PROJECT.
DUNEDIN'S HIGH SCHOOLS. DUNEDIN, Friday. The High Schools' Board received a report from the committee on areas and boundaries proposed for the second boys' high school. The hoard confirmed the decision and recommended the purchase of an area of 42). acres at Costorphine, in the Caversham suburb, as a site. Mr Galloway. in objecting to the proceedings in committee, stated that the cost of the site would be £.5000 and the cost of erection £IOO,OOO. He thought such huge expenditure, which might not take place for 10 or 20 years, should he extremely carefully considered-, also that the primary schools, which would feed the new school, should have an opportunity to say something. She chairman stated that the board was, only recommending to the Department. So far the matter was sub judicc.
