TRADE REPRESENTATIVE FINED. WELLINGTON. Friday. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day R. E. Turton, representative for J. N. Phillips and Co., England, was fined £25 for delivering a document to the Customs Department erroneously stating certain goods to he “wholly or partially made in the United Kingdom," whereas they were wholly manufactured in France. The charge referred to a consignment of beads, which, as they were made in France, were liable to heavier duty. Counsel said similar mistakes had been made on previous occasions.
