PAYING OF WAR DEBT.
A CREDIT AUSTRALIA MUST SHARE. A cablegram recently published in the press gave Australia the credit of being the only country to make a payment of both principal and interest on account of the war debt to Britain. The Prime Minister announced in the House of Representatives 'that Australia was not alone in what she had done. New Zealand had made a similar arrangement for the payment of principal and interest. This country's debt amounts to £27,500,00 and from June Ist it was being reduced on terms similar to those arranged by the Commonwealth.
