KING COUNTRY LANDS.
APPLICATIONS FOR CROWN SECTIONS.
Delay in the granting of applications for Crown sections was mentioned in the House on Thursday by Mr W. T. Jennings (Waitomo), who said that in a number of King Country townships there were many Crown sections suitable for sites for dwellings, but that applicants had such difficulty in getting the applications* put through the Crown office and gazetted that they were often compelled to biiy sections from private owners at big prices. Many of the townships were increasing in population, and in view of the urgent need for sections he asked that available land be put up for selection as soon as possible.
The Minister denied that there was any unnecessary delay, but promised that any applications brought under his;'notice should be dealt with as expeditiously as possible.
