COUNTY LOAN PROPOSALS.

TE RORE MEETING GIVES ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT.

In connection with the proposals of the Waipa County Council to raise a loan of £6OO for road metalling in the Mangapiko Riding, and for which a loan authority poll is to be held next Friday, a meeting of ratepayers took place in the Te Rore school last night. The County chairman (Mr S. Reid) and the Riding members, Crs S. C. Macky and H. J. Coxhead, were in attendance to explain all details surrounding the proposals. The attendance of ratepayers was fairly representative. The proposals were generally explained and a good many questions answered. The meeting showed its complete assent to the proposals by recording a resolution, on the motion of Mr Butterworth, seconded by Mr Allcock, as follows: "That this meeting of Mangapiko Riding ratepayers approves of the County proposals and urges the voters to support same at next Friday's poll." A meeting is being held at Paterangi this evening, and other meetings are being arranged for next week. It is plainly the Council's desire that the ratepayers should have every possible opportunity of hearing the proposals.
