Sir, —Now the parliamentary election is drawing near I hope the women of Waikato will select one of their own sex to. stand. The country needs women’s views for the proper ordering of State affairs. Public house-keeping is but ordinary house-keeping on an extended scale. Other countries are progressing, and let not Ne'w Zealand lag behind. Waikato has plenty of highly-educated, brainy women, and surely one at least can be persuaded to stand, and be backed by the loyalty of women—and, I 'hope, toy tihe loyalty of men, too. —I am, etc., PROGRESS.
