The size of the average New Zealand family was stated by the presidenfof the Arbitration Court (iMr Justice Frazer) as being two and a-half adults and two children. An Ashburton resident who is on a visit to Wanganui states that there is every indication of a large area being ©own in grass again this year in South Canterbury. A number of farmers would turn their attention to sheep only they are prevented from doing so by the scarcity of the lines they require, and have no alternative but to keep the teams going for another season. Fowl wheat is cheap in the south this year, and plenty of the best can be bought for less than £1 per sack.
