THE MATTER OF TRANSPORT.

A meeting was held in the old school on Wednesday evening \r, connection with the school picnic and swimming sports. Mr C. F. Bai.teon, chairman of the school committee,

presided. J ' Messrs Feasit and Murell wrote giv- %| ing permission to make any desired use of their ground for the purpose of the picnic—The writers to be thanked for their permission. The chairman reported that a dozen

cars were promised for transport of the children and that, with the promised use of the borough lorry would be sufficient. Mrs Wood reported that she and others had collected £ll 9s in cash, and trophies were provided to a considerable number, including medals. Misses J. and E. Ingham wrote of-

fering to donate £1 for the privilege of selling fruit, ice creams', etc., on the ground.—The secretary's action in accepting the offer was endorsed Mr Mensforth reported that boilers, etc., had been procured.
