SEWERAGE SCHEME.
ENGINEERS’ PROGRESS REPORT,
At the Council meeting on Tuesday evening Messrs Toogood, Jones, and Holmes forwarded a sewerage progress report from 17th December to 27th January, as follows: ' “ No. 2 (main) sewer is now nearing completion, the trestles over the swamp being still under construction. The portion under the railway has also been completed. We will complete No. 2 sewer, including the byparts, and then we propose to continue No. 6 sewer through the drainage reserve to Alexandra Street, and then complete No. 30 sewer along Alexandra Street.” Attached was an abstract of labour costs and a. progress schedule. The Mayor said that the sewer under the railway line was completed last week.
The engineers’ report was adopted.
