RATES OF INTEREST.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. At yesterday’s meeting of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce the following resolution, carried by the National Dairy Association, was brought under notice in a covering letter from the Association of the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce: “That this meeting of the National Dairy Association is of the opinion that the time has arrived when the rates of interest charged by the banks should be reduced, and that representations be made to the other branches of the producing industries and mercantile industry, with a view to joint action being taken to have this matter brought before the banking institutions.” The matter was noted.
