ANGLICAN SOCIAL.
SUCCESSFUL EVENT. . MUSIC AND DANCING. The third event on.the, St. Joha'a Church programme of fortnightly socials took place in the Town Hall last evening and was devoted to a musical evening with supper and dancing. Nearly forty couples took the floor to a varied programme, for which the dance music was played by Mrs. Dawson, Miss Kathleen Wallace, and Miss Hoggins, while Miss Ahier played most of the song accompaniments. The dancing party contained a large admixture of parents, who appeared to enjoy the fascination, equally with the younger participants. Messrs. Hessell and King were M.C.'s. Mrs Dawson is the lady supervisor and the duties of the evening devolved upon Miss Ahier, ably assisted by Miss Mabel Jones. A'capital programme of songs was contributed by Mesdames Armstrong and Wells, and Messrs. Hessell, King, Corboy, New, and Gillmore, while duets were rendered by Mr and Mrs New. The supper was contributed by the ladies and reached its usual high level of attractiveness so that the evening will rank among the successful numbers on the list.
