A DUAL CRIME.
ATTEMPTED MURDER AND SUICIDE.
WANGANUI, Friday,
In the Supreme Court, Stephen Harris, charged with attempted murder and suicide was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
Stephen Harris, a labourer, attack-* ed his wife with a hammer, and afterwards inflicted a bad gash on her throat with a razor. The man then attempted to commit suicide by cutting his own throat. He succeeded in severing the windpipe.
