STEAMERS FOR DOMINION.
IMPROVED CARGO SERVICE. (By Telegraph Press Association.) DUNEDIN, .Wednesday. The Union Company have purchased a number of cargo steamers as part of their extensive programme of after-war reconstruction. The steamers are the Cape Colony (formerly the War Palace), 3,112 tons; Cape Natal (formerly tWar Foam),, 3,096 tons; Sol berg, 5,886 tons; Cleopatra, 2,200 Ions; Irmgard, 5,900 tons; and John Heidmann, 3,450 tons. These boats will be renamed respectively the Kaitoki, Kaikorai, Waiotapu, Koranui. Waikouaiti and Kaimanawa.
