“HER PRICE.”
"Her Price," to be screened at the Empire Theatre on Monday, is a film play of particular appeal to girlsyoung girls. Briefly summarized, it tells the story of Marcia Calhoun, a young music student in New York, who makes the mistake of sacrificing woman's most prized possession in order to realise her ambition, that of becoming a star of the opera. Lofty of purposed characterful, with every attribute of mind -and body to carry her successfully to her goal, the cynicism of New York City envelopes this girl, blinds her mental vision, stunts her spiritual growth— and she takes the "short cut" to fame. When fame is hers, the sweetness of success legitimately obtained does not leaven it, and the lees of the cup of life are hers instead. Love comes late but it does come, to regenerate her.
