PERSONAL ITEMS.
Messrs Toogood, Holmes, and Jones, civil and electrical engineers, were in Te Awamutu yesterday. Messrs R. G. Blennerhassett and H. W. Henderson have been elected to the Kawa Drainage Board.
Mr Walter McGivern, who has severed his connection with Messrs Cox, Luxford, and McCarter after several years’ service, has joined the staff of Messrs H. G. Foster and Co.
Constable Doyle, of Te Awamutu, was a passenger by the south-bound Main Trunk express on Thursday for Wellington, he having been called to headquarters on official business. Messrs J. S. Bond (Remuera), Gabriel Elliott„(Te Kuiti), and A. J. Morrish (Avondale) have been nominated to represent the west ward, of which Te Awamutu is a part, on the Auckland Education Board. One representative has to be elected by the school committees.
Mr H. J. Gillmore, of Wellington, will in the course of the next few weeks commence the practice of his profession as an accountant in Te Awamutu. Except for a period of war service, Mr Gillmore has for some years held the position of accountant in the Fire Underwriters’ Association. Rev. F. H. Spencer, who has for the past twenty-two years been secretary and organiser for the British and Foreign Bible Society in Wellington, has tendered his resignation prior to taking up his residence in Auckland (says a Press Association message today). The Rev. A. F. Thompson. M.A.5.0., who has been associated for the past two years with Mr Spencer, has been appointed to fill the vacancy.
