WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The above Council met on Tuesday. Present:—Crs R. Fisher (chairman), Steele, Alexander, Macky, Boucher, Fullerton, Reid, Cavanagh, and McGhie. FENCING APPL ICATION. Mr G. W. Waller, Pirongia, sought permission to fence a road between the acre he had purchased from Mr Grant across the VVaipa River at Pirongia.—The Council decided to offer no objection to the work. RANGIAOHIA RIDING LOAN. The Treasury notified that £2OOO of the £3OOO loan for the Rangiaohia Riding ha.d been placed to Council's credit. SURFACE WATER. Mr S. Hales, Whatawhata, complained of the surface water from the road draining on to his property. Report to be made. TAYLOR'S ROAD. Tenders are to be called for a cutting on Taylor's hill on the Paterangi-Te Awamutu road. GRAVEL AT HOROTIU. An application from the chairman of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Co. for a further area of gravel at Horotiu was refused, the Council expressing the opinion that the company had been treated very generously by the Council,' and that no further gravel should be given away or sold while it was so urgently needed for country roads. PROPOSED NGARUAWAHIA BOROUGH. A number of ratepayers in the Ngaruawahia district asked the Council to assist them in their objection to the inclusion of their properties in the proposed Ngaruawahia borough area. It was decided to recommend the objectors to send their protest to the Government.
