WAIPA RUGBY UNION.

A meeting of the management committee of the above Union was held in the Cosmopolitan Club Room last evening. Mr S. H. Dwen presided. A reply was received from Mr Odium agreeing to the suggestion that the junior cup be called the “ Odium Cup.’, An application for a transfer to the Pirongia Club was received from Mr Holmes, a member of the Te Awamutu Club. —It was decided to grant the transfer. The secretary of the Kihikihi Club'wrote asking for permission to register three players.—Request refused.

It was decided that Mr C. Macky be asked to referee in the junior match, Kihikihi v. Pirongia.

It was considered that the time was opportune for the selection of a representative team, and it was decided to ask each club to nominate seven players, to be dealt with by a selector.

' Mr F. Bowden was duly appointed selector for the representative team.

The secretary was instructed to write to the Maniopoto and Hamilton Unions with regard to tlie annual representative fixtures. The secretary of the school committee wrote asking if in the event of a play-off for the Senior Championship at Te Awamutu, the Union would make a charge the proceeds to be devoted to the Technical School Fund. Mr. West thought it was a matter which did not come under the jurisdiction of the Union. It was/fnore to do with the clubs concerned, who would, he was /tire, fall in with the suggestion. It was decided to reply stating that in the event of a final match not being arranged, the Union would do their utmost to arrange for a fancy dress or a veterans’ match in aid of the Technical School.
