A most successful concert, under the auspices of the Anglican Church, took place at the local hall on Wednesday evening. The accommodation was fully availed of, and the audience was a thoroughly appreciative one. The ■ stage had been prettily decorated and the whole of the arrangements were complete in detail. The Rev. Clarke presided and welcomed the performers and visitors.
A most enjoyable concert prof gramme was rendered, and eapn item was much appreciated. , jF\ So much so that encores wenf the order of the evening. were contributed by Margaret Mackenzie a/d Price, Messrs P. Fredric, W. Smith, and O. Price Owcp. Mr P. Fredric’s playing, ofifthe overtures was much appreciated, as were the trumpet solop by Mr W. J. Dil. / Mrs F. W./Clarke, Miss M. Mackenzie jpd Mr P. Fredric were the accompanists. An amjfle and tasty supper was disp/nsed by the ladies of the distinct, and after this had been dfine full and satisfactory justidl to, a most enjoyable dance wajmeld, which brought to a close a inost enjoyable function.
