GILLS’ CLUB.
The members of the above club held their opening night in the supper loom of the Town Hall on Wednesday, when they invited their friends to a town evening, each person to represent a New Zealand town. The attendance was not nearly as large as the girls expected, but a very enjoyable evening was spent. For the most successful in the guessing competition in connection with the towns Miss Eileen Hutt won the ladies’ prize, and Mr Nelson Middlebrook the gentlemen’s. Songs were given by Mesdames Archibald and Andrew, and Miss Crawford, and several choruses sung by. those present. A very tasty supper was then handed round/after which games were indulged in until the close of the evening.®
