OTANE.

HOME-NURSING LECTURE. [Own Correspondent], On Thursday night, despite the very inclement weather, there was a good attendance at the St. John Ambulance first aid class. Dr. Norris was present and delivered his concluding lecture, and a vote of thanks was passed to him for his generous service. It was arranged to hold the examination on the 7th of August and to continue the home-nursing class on the 27th. A visit from the Napier “Frivs. ” is anticipated early in September, the funds to go to assist the St. John Ambulance Society.

Stuck in the Mud. Another case, of “stick in the mud” occurred last week, when a private car was bogged in the centre of Miller street and assistance had to be got to extract it.
