LOYAL ABBOTSFORD LODGE
PICNIC OUTING. A very successful picnic gathering organised by the officers of the above lodge was held at Pourerere beach yesterday. Milk and boiling water were provided for the convenience of the members, who enjoyed their al fresco meals in parties along the beach. The weather was perfect for the oeeasion and the greater part of the day was spent in surfing. On gathering for the homeward run the feeling was expressed on every side that the day lmd provided a splendid opportunity of promoting a friendly spirit among the brethren and shold he made an animal event. Happily the day was free from serious aeeident, but the St. John Ambulance officer who was present attended numerous eases of sunburn and minor injuries.
