A WET MONTH.
THE SEPTEMBER RAINFALL. September was a decidedly wet month in this district, rain beingregistered on 18 days in Waipawa and 20 at Blackburn. Details are as under:— Waipawa (Mr W. H. Rathbone). — Rain fell on 18 days: Ist .07in., 3rd .14in., 4th 1.31in., sth ,42in., 6th ■soin, 7th .04in., 13th ,22in., 15th •05in., 16th .Oilin., 17th ,03in., 20th •02in., 21st ,04in., 22nd .Olin., 23rd .ICin., 24th ,05in., 25th ,19in, 27th .13in., 30th .Olin.; total, 3.48in.; total 1937, 22.22in.; same period 1936, 32.53in. Blackburn (Mr E. S. Bibby).—Rain fell on 20 days: Ist .14in., 3rd .28in., 4th 1.88in., sth 2.52in., 6th .52in., 7th ,79in., Bth ,04iin., 13th ,05in., 14th .06in., 15th .03in., 16th .04in., 17th ,04in., 20th .Olin., 21st ,02in., 22nd .05in., 23rd ,02in., 24th ,07in, 25th ,52in., 27th ,14in., 30th ,07in.; total, 7.29in.; average, 3.40in.; rainfall for 1937 to date, 32.65in.; for the same period 1936, 37.43in. This is the wettest . September since 1920.
