WATPAWA. CLUB. Owing to the inclement weather conditions it was found necessary to postpone the match which was to have been played against Parkvale during the week-end. Despite the wet conditions several Parkvale members journeyed to Waipawa and a splendid day’s golf resulted. Stroke rounds were played both morning- and afternoon and some excellent cards were returned. Some of the best were as follow:

ELIMINATION ROUNDS. Further elimination rounds were played during the week-end, resulting as follow: — Watts beat Chisholm. Trcvena beat R. Knobloch. French beat J. Knobloch. The F.M.T. and championship rounds are now well forward, and these events should be finalised at an early date. OTANE CUP. On Wednesday the annual Bogey round over 18 'holes for the Otane Cup will be played. The draw is as hereunder, players to take the tee at 1.15 p.tn, sharp: — Bryant plays Bishop. Woods plays Jopson. Edwards plays Surridge. Tickner plays Walker. Shackelford plays Knobloch. Clark plays Dwight. Rust plays Norris. Dallas plays Mitchell. Dick plays Fox. Petersen plays Jeffery. Reg. Holt plays another. Next week-end the club will meet Aramoana at Aramoana. The team selected will be announced in Friday’s issue. LADIES’ CLUB. HASTINGS v. WAIPAWA. A team from the Hastings Ladies’ Golf Club visited the Waipawa links on Friday and played an all-day match with local players. The weather was perfect. A four-ball. was played in the morning and a singles in the afternoon, the visitors proving the winners in both sections. Mrs Faulkner, vice-captain of the Hastings Club, returned thanks on behalf of the visitors, and Miss Britten suitably replied. Results of play wer eas under, the visitors being mentioned first:— 'FOUR-BALL. Mesdames Murley and Hill lost to Miss MeCartin and Mrs Strang. Mesdames Newbigen and Faulkner beat Misses Britten and d’Emden. Mrs Mclntosh and Miss Strutters halved with Mrs Woods and Miss Witherow. Mesdames Murphy and Evison halved with Mrs 11.
