RAILWAY REVENUE.

STILL ON THE UP GRADE. WELLINGTON, This day. Complete statistics showing the financial operations of the New Zealand railways for the year ended March 31st "last are not yet available, but it appears that the net revenue is likely to be from 10 per cent, to 11 per cent, better than the figure for the previous financial year. The official returns so far available cover the period of over 11 months from April Ist, 1932, to March 4th, 1933. An exact comparison with the previous financial year is not possible since the figures for 1931-32 are for a period of slightly less than 11 months from April Ist, 1931, -to February 27th, 1932. The four-weekly period ended March 4th last was a refreshing contrast to the corresponding four weeks last year. This year total revenue was £13,204 above the aggregate in the same four weeks in 1932, and total expenses were £14,999 lower.
