OTANE.
[Own Correspondent], Library Committee. The annual meeting of the subscribers to the Public Library war held in the Library on Friday night, there being an attendance of only fri members, due mainly to the unsuitability of the night. The report and balance-sheet as presented were adopted and the oil committee were re-elected, namelyChairman, Mr J. Ashby; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. E. Black; com mittee, Rev. Hall, Messrs G. Warm, F. E. Williams, C. Dell, L. Earnehai and H. Carter. The chairman stated that it hah been arranged to hold a concert ia the Town Hall on the 29th inst. to raise money for the purchase of W* books, a number of Waipukurau amateurs having consented to put on «• evening. Motoring Mishap. Mr Sewell, of Bay View, had ® unfortunate accident on Friday afternoon while motoring to Otane. When passing another car on the main row his car swerved in the loose gra™ and turned upside down. Mr Sewell * head was badly cut, and he had to« taken by a passing motorist to D* South, at Waipawa. The car was alw fladly damaged.
