Spencer. Tikokino v. Waipukurau, at Waipukurau (No. 2 ground), 2.15 p.m., Mr D. Diunan. MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Central H.B. Rugby Sub-union Management Committee was held at Waipawa last evening, Mr W. H. L. Williams presiding over Messrs R. Wynn (Waipawa), P. Smyrk (Takapau), T. Dunn (Tikokino), B. L. Wallis (Referees’ Association), G. Rees (Te Aute), B. Ricketts (H. 5.0.8.), F. Logan (Onga Onga), and J. Bell (Waipukurau). July 25th was confirmed as the date for the Dannevirke senior representative fixture to be played at Waipukurau. It was stated that Dannevirke were also l prepared to send their junior representatives to play a curtain-raiser, which was agreed to. The Hawke’s Bay junior selector is to be asked to be present at this game.

Accounts totalling £9 were passed for payment. It was decided that the dates August sth or 12th be sent to the Hastings Sub-union for the representative fixture. Victoria University wrote stating they would be pleased to send a team to play against Te Aute. It was suggested that a Town v. Country match be played at Tikokino on the 18th July to assist in the opening of the memorial gates, and that the senior selector be asked to choose the teams. A. Taylor, of the Onga Onga team, who was ordered off last Saturday for disputing the referees’ decision, was cautioned. The H.B'. Rugby Union wrote notifying that the semi-finals of the Ross Shield competition should be played on August 15th, and the final would take place on August 22nd. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting. SCHOOL FOOTBALL. WANGANUI v. TE AUTE. PLAYED AT PUKEHOU TO-DAY. The annual meeting of the Wanganui and Te Aute senior and junior teams took place at Pukehou this afternoon, when, despite the threatening state of the weather, there was a very large attendance of the public, who looked forward to two keen games between these old rivals. THE JUNIOR MATCH. Punctually at 1.15 play opened in the junior match, Wanganui kicking off. Both sides evinced great keenness, and the oval travelled up and down the field with little advantage to either side. Eventually Merritt, Te Aute five-eighth, picked up tin oval near the posts and dashed over Tukere failed to enhance. Later after some tight play, Pohe, Te Aute winger, got possession, and scored between the posts, Tukere failing with the kick. Shortly before the call of time Horne, Wanganui wing, threequarter, secured the oval in his own twenty-five and, after a great run down the side line, registered a splendid try. Rutledge failed

to improve, and the game ended in Te Aute’s favor by six points to three. Mr Dinnan refereed.
