UNIQUE SCENES.
ON THE SYDNEY BEACHES. SYDNEY, December 10. Unique scenes were witnessed at Sydney beaches last night. The temperature dining the afternoon soared to 99 degrees, and thousand* of people flocked to the beaches, many bathing until the early hours of the morning. Twelve thousand sought refuge from the heat at Coogee’s shark-proof enclosure. There were numerous accidents of a more or less serious nature. The life-savers did splendid work.
