BIG MATCH IN NAPIER. GRIME BEATS LECKIE ON POINTS. [Own Correspondent"!. NAPIER, Saturday. A crowd of some 1500 assembled in the Municipal Theatre to-night to wit ness the boxing match between Grime (Australia) and Leckic (New Zen land), and they were treated to a very interesting contest that went the full 15 rounds. Grime had a slight advantage ii weight, but Lcclcie did most of tin leading, and piled up points in the opening rounds. The Australian, how ever, was most elusive and kept well out of trouble, relying on the in-fight-ing for his points. Til the last three rounds* Grime became more aggressive and succeeded in turning the balance in his favor. Tin- referee, Mr Stewart, of Wellington, gave bis decision in favor of the visitor, but the announcement was not received with tumutuous applause, a great number of the audience being of opinion that Leekie was entitled to the decision. The result will, however, give an added interest to the meeting of the two in a match at Wellington.
