SATURDAY’S PLAY. There was a full muster on the howling green on Saturday, and some very interesting games were recorded. HANDICAP SINGLES. Seven games in the Handicap Singles* were completed, the results being:— Reynolds (7) beat Dailey (3), 21—7. Fletcher (7) beat Davy (5), 21—19. Eagle (7) beat Moorhead (10), 21—18. Holt (3) heat Wallace (6), 21 17. Tavlor (4) heat Houghton (4). 21—18. Coutts (7) beat Parkin (6), 21—18. Grenside (4) beat Cossar ((»), 21—17. BREWER BUTTONS. These trophies changed hands, the holders, Holt and Parkin, being unable to withstand the challenge of Dailey and Walker, who ran out winners by 22 to 5. Three more challenges have been entered. Rink games tilled in the afternoon. DISTRICT SHIELD. CHANGES HANDS AGAIN. The second challenge game for the District Shield was played on the Port green on Saturday, when the holders, Port Ahuriri, were defeated by Wairere bv 70 to 73. Port started well and established a good lead in the early part of the game, but were unable to keep the pace going. The issue was in doubt until the last head. Next Saturday Waipukurau will endeavor to make good their dial lenge on the Wairere green.
