Cardinal Ceretti, Papal legate, laid the foundation stone of a new Roman Catholic Cathedral in Brisbane in the presence of forty thousand people. There was a large gathering of church dignitaries.
The cathedral, which is to cost a million pounds, will he the best in Australia.
An appeal for donations yielded £50,000.
