Undeterred by Nobile’s disaster, Peter Frencken announces in the newspaper “National Tidende” that he and the veteran explorer Nansen will make a dash for the North Pole in March or April, using a Zeppelin which is being built at Lake Constance, and carrying a crew of thirtyfive and fifteen scientists. Frencken, who was lost in the Polar regions for "three years from 1920, managed to keep alive by shooting seal, walrus and reindeer. He eventually found Pond Islet, Banff Island. The hardships he experienced temporarily undermined his health.
