Soviet Russia publishes 556 newspapers with a total circulation of 7,084,000 says Tass, the official news agency, in giving statistics of newspaper growth in connection with the '•eccnt celebration of Press Day.
Moscow itself has forty-eight papers with a circulation of 4,000,000- A feature of Soviet journalism is the participation of worker and peasant correspondents who number 335,500, it is stated.
