BURST BLOOD VESSEL.
TRAGEDY COMMEMORATED. At the memorial service at St. Botolph’s, Aldg.ate, on February 21, to Sir John Cass, the 18th century founder of a local charity school, the children wore red quills in their caps. This commemorates the tragic happening at the Signing of the Will creating the foundation, when Sir John burst a blood vessel, and the blood stained the vellum. The 26th anniversary of the founding of the technical institute connected with the school was also celebrated.
