PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr J. Craig took his seat on the Council last evening for the first time. The Rev. W. T. Fraser has been permitted to attend as one of the Anglican chaplains at the Territorial casual camp, to ho held at Rangiotu on the 15th inst.
Mr George Davis, of Ashburton, was last evening appointed manager of the Waipawa municipal gasworks. He was eight years with the Christchurch Gas Company and 5J years at Ashburton.
Trooper Alex. Mcßae, son of Mr M. Mcßae, of Otane, and an ex-student of the Waipnwa High School, writing to his parents, states that he has been a student of the Gunnery School at Zeitoun and secured one of the highest passes in Maxim machine gunnery, He secured 94 per cent, missing by one per cent an instructor’s certificate, Trooper Mcßae matriculated before leaving the Waipawa School.
