MINING OR AGRICULTURAL PURSUITS. AN EXPERT’S OPINION. (Received This Day 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, This day. Professor Gregory, geologist at Yale University, has concluded a tour of the mining centres. In his opinion too much time is dei voted to mining. He states that the j country is in urgent need of men for ! the scientific investigation of a water supply, which would give infinitely better returns than mining.
