GREECE ON TOAST.
THE TRANSPORTATION OF TROOPS. INEFFECTIVE PROTEST. VERDUN ATTACK. LIKELY TO BE ABANDONED Greece again conies prominently into the limelight by reason of the transportation of Servian t roops across her territory. At the outset she stood on her dignity, but has been induced, probably by force of arms, to see that the All ies were not to be trifled with, and she is now content to register a f ormal protest. The attack at Verdun now seems to have spent itself, and the next development on the western front will he awaited with interest. Indications point to it being in the region of the Yser, the scene of some desperate fighting last year.
