ANZAC DAY.
WAIPUKURAU’S PROGRAM! (Own Correspondent). A meeting was held at Waipnl, yesterday afternoon to consider best means of observing Anzae ] (,25th inst). The Mayor presided, a n attendance of represent at ivisf the Borough and County Councils, Patriotic Committee, churches,' also local residents. After discussion it was decided the motion of Mr E. Gilbertson,t a demonstration ‘ and service [ place. The public will assemble at ( sell Park at 2 p.m. and a proem will be formed. The route to be ti ersed will be by the interv« streets to the railway station tn | the town and then by way of 8 taniwha street to the Town Hall the hall a religious service will held and speeches delivered. It was decided that the folio, be asked to eo-operate:—Frio, societies; members of the Boro Council, the Waipukurau and C<n County Councils, the Town Bi National Reserve, Rifle Club, ’ft torials, Boy and Girl Scouts, and school children. The Anglican i Presbyterian choirs are also t* asked to attend as a combined d to lead the singing. Captain Gilt and Messrs Menzies, Smales i Scoutmaster Eyre were appointed organise the procession. Mr { Hunter, M.P., and the Rev, Brocklehurst are to he asked to liver speeches.
