GENEROUS GIFT.
ENTRANCE GATES FOR CORONATION PARK. It is always pleasing to record gifts, more especially when the presentation takes a public form, as evidence of the fact that the donor is a citizen who takes a pride in his town and is desirous of helping it forward. At last evening’s meeting of the Borough Council the following letter from Mr W. Carson was read:— On behalf of the donor, whose name is withheld for the present, I am deputed to state that a set of gates for the public entrance to Coronation Park will be handed over to the Council when the Council sees fit to erect them. The Mayor (Mr W. I. Limbrick) expressed warm appreciation of the donor’s generosity, and a letter of thanks is to be forwarded to him. The Recreation Ground Committee was authorised to select a site for the gates.
