[Reoeived 9 30 a.m, To-day] MELBOURNE, This day The Australasian Women’s Confe*ence resolved that all members of the Assooia tion refrain from the prevailing fashion in indecorous attire. The mover made a warm condemnation of the prevailing fashions. She said it was dreadful to sit in trains and trams with women who had lost all sense cf decency and modesty. She was surprieed that tbe Government had not taken action. If the unfortunate class of women wore such costumes the police should arrest them. It was degrading to respeotable women to see others wearing insufficient clothing to cover their body. She saw a window display of tango underskirts being viewed by more men than women A delegate interjected : “ Like their cheek.” Another speaker urged women to tako action to prevent suoh displays.
