Four of the competitors who wore despatched from Waipawa, on Saturday morning, reached Wellington in fair time, though only two were really in the raos, tteio being R. Bender and W. Hyalop Bender arrived at 7 3 p.m, which was practically 41 on the minute.” Hyslop reached the General Post Cffioe at 7 p m, a more prompt arrival, but as hie tunning times did not oompare so favourably with the predetermined schedule, the first prize goes to Bender, while Hyslop is placed second.
