It is likely that one of the most interesting features in the gula week, on the occasion of the American fleet's visit, will be a gie&t Maori hui, in Victoria Park. King Mahutn, who is in Auckland, expressed himself highly enthusiastic He bolievoß that a native gathering could be held in Auckland, en such a scale as was never known before. As a representative of tho original owners of the soil, he said, it would be a pleasure to welcome them, aud that pleasure would bo shared by his people.
