NAPIER NEWS.
[Own Correspondent.] Napier, Yesterday At to day’s meeting of the Land Board Mr Eustace Lane endeavoured to evoke a discussion on the East Coast railway question, but the other members of tbs Board, while sympathising with tbs scheme, considered the Board could not take any notice of it, and a motion on tie subject lapsed for want of a seconder. One of the heaviest seas experienosd in the bay for some time has been rolling in during the past few days, hampering shipping works considerably. Although in Borne places the sea has come up to tho Marine Parade parapet at high tide it has been noted with satisfaction that at the Bpot chosen for the municipal baths the water has not yat come beyond the line where the outer wall will he erected. The advent of winter was marked by a slight frost last night.
