The need of a public hall has been frequently felt here and there has been much talk of erecting one. The move, ment was advanced a stage on Thursday night, when a meeting was held to con. iider ways and means. Mr John Dun. »an, sen., was voted to the chair meeting of some 20 ladies had been held i few days previously, when it was d*. oided to get up a bazaar to aid the move, ment. Six lady collectors, with power to add to their number, were appointed | to canvass the district for subscriptions. I At an early date a social will be held, the proceeds of whioh will be donated to the purchasing of material to make up for the bazaar. The following were appointed trustees : —Messrs John Dun. can (sen.), Thomas Haycock, Andrew I M‘Gatfin, Thomas Ryan, and Robert 8. I M‘Aulay.
